Harvest #1 Reviews

Harvest by A.J. Lieberman and Colin Lorimer debuted this week. Here’s a collection of what reviewers are saying about it!

“To put it simply, Harvest #1 is a stunning debut. This is a brilliant work, the kind of comic book you fall in love with. There are no heroes within these pages, only awful people doing horrible things and it’s simply hypnotic. Do yourself a favor and get on this train now, because Harvest is going to be a hit, no doubt about it.”
-Benjamin Baily, IGN

Harvest #1 is guide to new writers on how to write a first issue. Smack the reader in the face three or four times and then give them a mind-blowing last page. Terrifyingly awesome!”
-Matthew Sardo, The Comics Vault

“This was an awesome book. The story was dark, creepy and would make a great premise for a series on a premium cable channel. The art matched the mood perfectly. I am absolutely all in on Harvest. I look forward to finding out how far down the proverbial “rabbit hole” Dr. Benjamin Dane goes. I definitely recommend picking this book up.”
-El Blanco Gigante, Superpodcasto Magnifico

“The issue also has plenty of dark humor - especially the last page. Someone on the net described it as having the same vibe as the darkest episodes of Nip/Tuck. I think that’s an apt comparison - this is no Chew, but it’s not hyper-serious either.

“Of course, none of this would work without great art. Colin Lorimer does a great job on the art. The scenes in the underworld feel gritty and dark. The scenes with kids feel bright and innocent. And he’s done great work on where he places the panels and how he manipulates the gutters to make them part of the image such as in the spread below.” -Eric Mesa, Player Affinity

“There are really several simple storylines at play in the issue/series, but the fact that they’re stacked on top of each other makes them exciting to read about. It’s going to take a lot for this series not to hold my attention for the remaining four, but let’s just hope it continues being this good or better.”
-Comic Bastards

“In closing, I am highly impressed by Harvest #1. Not just because of its themes and bravery, but because it looks to also be telling a decent story and narrative in between. This isn’t shocking for the sake of being shocking; its shocking because its pulled off with a disturbing sense of reality.”
